Setting up the Auriteq controller with FL Studio

Last updated on

This guide will help you connect the Auriteq controller to FL Studio.

The setup process is slightly different on Windows and Mac, so please follow the section for your operating system.

FL Studio Setup Guide for Windows

On Windows, the Auriteq controller uses virtual MIDI ports to communicate with FL Studio. To create these ports, you first need to install loopMIDI.

Step 1: Install loopMIDI

Download and install loopMIDI from:

tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html

loopMIDI is a free tool that creates virtual MIDI ports on Windows. It also works on Windows 11.

Step 2: Create the Required MIDI Ports

Open loopMIDI and create two MIDI ports with these exact names:

Auriteq_ToFL

Auriteq_FromFL

The names must match exactly, including capitalization and underscores.

Keep loopMIDI running in the background while using the Auriteq controller with FL Studio.

By default, loopMIDI  so the ports are always available.

Step 3: Configure FL Studio

Open FL Studio and go to:

Options → MIDI Settings

In the Input section:

  1. Find Auriteq_ToFL
  2. Enable it
  3. In the Controller Type dropdown, select Auriteq

In the Output section:

  1. Find Auriteq_FromFL
  2. Enable it

Then close the MIDI Settings window.

Step 4: Configure the Auriteq App

Open the Auriteq app.

Select FL Studio as your DAW.

If you don't see a green light next to "FL Studio script", click "Connect"

The MIDI port fields should show:

  • Auriteq_FromFL
  • Auriteq_ToFL

Make sure these names match exactly the ports you created in loopMIDI.

Windows Troubleshooting

The Auriteq controller does not respond in FL Studio

Make sure that loopMIDI is running before starting both FL Studio and the Auriteq app.

If you created the loopMIDI ports while FL Studio was already open, restart FL Studio. FL Studio usually only detects MIDI ports when it starts.

The MIDI ports do not appear in FL Studio

Check that both ports exist in loopMIDI:

  • Auriteq_ToFL
  • Auriteq_FromFL

If they do not appear in FL Studio, close FL Studio, make sure loopMIDI is running, and then open FL Studio again.

The controller still does not connect

Make sure the port names match exactly between loopMIDI, FL Studio, and the Auriteq app.

Even a small difference, such as a missing underscore or different capitalization, can prevent the connection from working.

The controller does random actions when starting up FL Studio

FL Studio sometimes resets the MIDI ports when you start it. Check again the MIDI configuration and make sure that it is correctly set.

FL Studio Setup Guide for Mac

On Mac, Auriteq creates the required MIDI ports automatically. No additional software is needed.

Step 1: Install and Open the Auriteq App

Install and launch the Auriteq app on your Mac.

In the app, select FL Studio as your DAW.

If you don't see a green light next to "FL Studio script", click "Connect"

Step 2: Configure FL Studio

Open FL Studio and go to:

Options → MIDI Settings

In the Input section:

  1. Find Auriteq-IN
  2. Enable it
  3. Set the Controller type to Auriteq

In the Output section:

  1. Find Auriteq-OUT
  2. Enable it

Then close the MIDI Settings window.

The Auriteq controller should now be connected and ready to use with FL Studio.
